Police: $1,500 in coins stolen from Glenview business

The following items were taken from Glenview Police Department reports and releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Theft

An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Pickwick Avenue told police April 24 that someone ordered glass mirrors using a fraudulent credit card. The reported loss is $3,900.

Someone came to a store in the 100 block of Waukegan Road twice on April 24 and bought merchandise with counterfeit $100 bills. The reported loss is $200.

An employee of a business in the 1200 block of MiIwaukee Avenue told police April 24 that someone left without returning business keys. The reported loss is $500.

Someone rented a white, 2018 Chevrolet Malibu from a business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road on April 24 and did not return it, police said. The car was later found in the 2500 block of East 98th Street in Chicago.

Someone stole a welcome mat from a home in the 1500 block of Plymouth Place on April 25, police said. The reported loss is $20.

An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road told police April 25 that someone rented a red, 2018 Kia Sportage for two weeks and did not return it. On May 1, Riverdale police reported that the stolen vehicle was recovered in Blue Island.

Two women grabbed numerous items of clothing from a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road on April 26 and ran out without paying, police said. The reported loss is $500.

An employee of a business in the 1700 block of Glenview Road told police April 27 that someone entered the store and stole coins. The reported loss is $1,500.

A resident of the 1900 block of Ivy Lane told police April 30 that a customer paid for an online sale with a fraudulent check. The reported loss is $2,800.

Elizabeth Alicea, 40, of the 2700 block of North McVicker Avenue, Chicago, was charged on April 30 with retail theft at Von Maur, 1960 Tower Drive. Her bond and court information was not available.

Burglary

Beatle Miller, 56, of the 1400 block of East Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, and Walter Miller, 44, of the 400 block of West Enterprise Drive, Mount Prospect, were charged on May 1 with residential burglary after a ruse burglary investigation in the 2400 block of Pfinsgten Road. Their bond and court information was not available.

Alcohol

Jack Hagedorn, 24, of the 300 block of Wolf Point Place, Chicago, was charged on April 29 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content of .08 or more, speeding, uninsured motor vehicle and expired registration in the 2700 block of East Lake Avenue. He posted $1,000 bond and was assigned a court date of June 6.

Drugs

Richard Ramos, 23, of the 900 block of Windsor Road, Glenview, was charged on May 1 with driving under the influence of drugs, improper lane usage and driving with a suspended driver’s license in the 3300 block of West Lake Avenue. He posted $3,000 bond and was assigned a court date of June 6.

Warrant

Pedro Khani, 20, of the 2600 block of Fontana Drive, Glenview, was arrested on April 29 on a Cook County warrant for a conditional release violation after a traffic crash investigation in the 100 block of Shermer Road. He posted $2,500 bond and was assigned a court date of May 24.

Battery

A resident of the 2500 block of Waterview Drive told police April 25 that someone grabbed them by the hair.

Marjorie H. Gates, 50, of the 1400 block of Glenwood Avenue, Glenview, was charged on May 2 with domestic battery. Her bond and court information was not available.

Trespass

An employee of a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road told police April 25 that someone was in the business after being told not to return.

Unwanted subject

An employee of a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue told police April 23 that someone checked out of the hotel in the morning and returned later talking in a loud voice and would not stop shouting.

An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road told police April 25 that someone would not leave until receiving a prescription that could not be filled.

Criminal damage

A driver told police April 27 that another motorist cut off the driver’s vehicle and got out and damaged the vehicle in 4100 block of Willow Road, police said. The reported loss is $300.

Threat

An employee of a business in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard told police April 30 that a customer caused a scene and threatened harm when denied a refund.

Disorderly conduct

A resident of the 1000 block of Glenwood Lane reported to police April 28 being followed as the resident walked a dog.

An employee of a business in the 500 block of Waukegan Road told police April 30 that another employee threatened harm.

Traffic

David Carchi, 51, of the 3600 block of West Lawrence Avenue, Chicago, was charged April 28 with driving with a revoked license and no registration light in the 200 block of East Lake Avenue. He posted $1,500 bond and was assigned a court date of May 23.
